Lately 've made it a habit a to ask someone each day the question: "Do you know for sure that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven?" Sadly the majority of the people answer with: "I hope so" or "probably." However, there is no reason for people in this nation to be unsure about their salvation. We do have the Bible after all.
I can not understand for the life of me how people can be less than 100% for sure about their salvation, yet remain content. If you knew that there was a 75% chance that you didn't have cancer the odds are that you would go to a doctor any way and get a more definite answer. Simply because there would still be a 25% chance that you did have cancer. The same should be true with salvation, if your less than 100% sure you need to search the scriptures and see whether or not you have eternal life.
So what does the Bible say about getting eternal life? The first thing the Bible says is that all men are sinners. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."-Rom 3.23. Everyone ever born has sinned and sin must be paid for: "For the wages of sin is death" Rom 6.23. Fortunately, Christ paid for our sins when he died and rose again. Although "the wages of sin is death" the Bible goes on to say "but the gift of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord." We can have eternal life, but only through Jesus Christ. The problem is that people trust in their works to save them, while the Bible says specifically in Ephesians 2.8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God:" One can not be saved by his good works. Christians should do good works because they are saved, not to be saved. So after realizing your a lost sinner on your way to hell, with no hope besides the Lord Jesus, all one has to do is call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save him and allow Christ's blood to pay for his sin. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved "With the mouth confession is made unto salvation"-Rom. 10.9-10.
Salvation is as simple as ABC:
A- Acknowledge you are a sinner:
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."-Rom 3.23
B- Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, have everlasting life." -John 3.16
C- Confess Jesus & Call Upon Him to Save You:
"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, thou shalt be saved." -Rom 10.9
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"
-Rom 10.13
